ISON

If to journey is to change, no body ever returns...

ISON: A Space Opera was performed at Sideshow Gallery in July of 2014. It was a love song to ISON (2012-2014), a Great Comet that never was. A meditation on the supposed heroism of long voyages, the difficulties of intragalactic communication, the limits of human imagination, and the dubious comfort of knowing that in the eyes of the universe, we are always something, never nothing, even when we disintegrate completely.

Performed by Color and guests. An original composition for seven instruments, three vocalists, two actors, a physicist, a sociologist, a barren set, simple machinery, and a video projector.
